Studies with larger sample size specifically of lower tumor stages can show significant correlation between expression levels of these genes and progressing tumor stages. This may give a better idea about the potentiality of these genes as stage specific markers. Further studies with precancerous lesions may provide clues as to whether these MCMs and RECQL4 can be therapeutic targets in cervical cancer.
